Dr. Stephanie Millender has over 15 years of experience as a school counselor. She started her career in her home state of Michigan where she served as a counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
In 2017, Dr. Millender moved to Fresno, California where she served as Assistant Principal for Charter G. Woodson Charter School for one year. Upon completion of that one year, she returned to her school counseling roots.
In 2021, Dr. Millender received her Doctorate of Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her dissertation is titled, Is Teacher Implicit Bias Associated with the Discipline Disparity Between Black and White Students? During her time as a school counselor, Dr. Millender became very passionate about equity outcomes for Black students.
Dr. Millender attended the University of Michigan where she received a bachelor’s in psychology; and Wayne State University where she received her Master’s in Counseling, Education Specialist certificate in Administration and her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
