You’ll gain practical tools you can use to make an immediate improvement in your relationships with young people. Imagine being able to encourage empathy, accountability, internal agency, and problem-solving skills in the children and young people you work with.
Through this interactive series that features practical information, activities, and conversation, you will be able to:
- Understand the brain’s response to stress, and why safety and connection are foundational in order for young people to learn new skills.
- Demonstrate a variety of connected and firm responses to challenging behaviors, so that you can create a safe environment for all young people
- Identify and practice strategies for joint problem-solving, repairing mistakes, and making agreements with young people, so that you can improve your relationships
- Invite conversations with colleagues about children who are experiencing trauma, so that you can help move your team or school towards awareness and shared understanding
This workshop includes: An online course offered over two 2-hour sessions. A downloadable workbook, and short videos sent before each session to provide foundational information.
Clock hours are available at no additional cost through OSPI for Washington state.
The program fee of $95 includes the cost includes pre-class videos, a course workbook, and connection to peers who share your interest in helping all kids thrive. After the workshop, participants will have access to the workshop recording for two months.
