Just like in nature, community groups, school systems, and school communities grow in response to the environments around them. Sometimes schools are able to forecast changing needs and intentionally create new systems, and sometimes the environment forces change. School systems and communities have grown and changed based on new research, the experience of educators, and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, and Sound Discipline has too. Auburn School District’s All-Staff Wellness Day Lays Foundation for a Culture of Care

The Mindful Mentors Project in Tukwila School District

The Mindful Mentors Project, in the Tukwila School District, brings together teens and third graders to connect as mentors and mentees, who engage together in learning about social emotional learning, mindfulness, and movement. Partnering with the students on this project are Thrive Centered (formerly Thrive Yoga), an organization that centers embodiment and provides somatic-based SEL and restorative practices for youth K-12, Sound Discipline, Tukwila Elementary School, and Foster High School. Terminal Park Elementary

We Welcome a New Whole School!   Sound Discipline is pleased to announce a new Whole School partnership with Auburn School District’s Terminal Park Elementary.   Terminal Park Elementary in the Auburn School District will be a Sound Discipline Whole School for the 2021-22 school year. Professional development for the entire staff will be the initial focus.
